Meet Shalene – Your Guide to Bungee Fitness

Hi there! I’m Shalene—a lifelong mover, coach, and proud bungee fitness enthusiast. I’ve spent most of my life chasing strength, movement, and the kind of fitness that leaves you feeling confident and alive.

I started as a competitive gymnast and later became a coach and fitness instructor, falling in love with how movement can transform not just the body, but the mind and spirit too. Over the years, I dove into bodybuilding, martial arts, and high-intensity training—always exploring new ways to grow and challenge myself.

I also spent over a decade serving as a police officer and detective. After a critical incident left me with a serious back injury, I had to rethink how I moved my body. For years, I searched for something that felt strong, safe, and fun—until I found bungee fitness. It brought me back to everything I loved about training: joy, challenge, freedom, and the ability to move safely with minimal impact and risk of injury.

Today, I’m passionate about creating a space where others can move with confidence, have fun, and feel supported—no matter where they’re starting from. When I’m not in the studio, you’ll find me soaking up life with my husband and family, along with our fluffy Alaskan Malamute. Come for the fitness, stay for the transformation.

Bungee fitness is a high-intensity, low-impact workout that combines cardiovascular training, resistance work, and functional movement. The bungee absorbs impact and reduces stress on joints—especially the back, knees, and ankles—while still challenging muscle groups through controlled, plyometric movement. You'll improve strength, stability, and coordination while keeping your core fully engaged. It's safe, effective, and yes—seriously fun.
Yes. For in-bungee workouts, participants must:
• Be 18+ (or 16+ with a parent in class)
• Weigh between 90–250 lbs
• Not be pregnant
• Have no recent surgeries or major medical concerns without doctor approval
Totally real—and seriously effective. Like any workout, it’s all about the effort you put in. You can coast through a gym session and leave feeling unchanged, or you can show up ready to challenge yourself.

Bungee fitness offers a full-body workout that builds strength, coordination, and endurance. It’s not just bouncing—it’s about learning to work the bungee. You’ll focus on intensity, form, and control, engaging your core and muscles in ways that traditional workouts can’t touch. There's even a mental component, similar to martial arts, where mastering technique becomes part of the journey.

Bring a positive attitude and a willingness to challenge yourself—that’s the most important part! Beyond that, here’s what we recommend:

• Water in a secure, closed bottle
• Snug bottoms like leggings (many students wear yoga shorts underneath for added padding—we also provide padding options)
• A longer top for comfort—crop tops and bare midriffs are discouraged, as the harness can be uncomfortable on bare skin
• Athletic shoes with good traction
